Adeno-Associated Viruses (AAV) are the gene delivery vectors of choice in many laboratory and clinical settings. However, gaps in our understanding of these vectors have limited our ability to widely apply them efficiently.
I work with Anna Maurer and my project aims to identify cellular host factors that are necessary in mediating AAV entry and establishment of rAAV episomes (the transcriptionally active therapeutic units of gene therapy).
