My research in the Tjian/Darzacq Lab is on adeno-associated virus (AAV), the gene delivery vector of choice in many laboratory and clinical settings. However, gaps in our understanding of these vectors have limited our ability to widely apply them efficiently. Therefore, I work with Dr. Anna Maurer to identify cellular host factors that mediate the processing of delivered AAV vector genomes (transgenes) in hopes of increasing therapeutic efficiency.
